- Cats/Kittens
|
|
These
cats/kittens have been adopted from Kern
County Animal Control for the
purpose of being re-homed to a permanent home.
We only accept cats and kittens from Kern County
Animal Control. We do not accept cats
or kittens from the public. If you see
a cat that you might be interested in please
send and e-mail to Konniellen@yahoo.com
Your adoption fees do include spay/neuter. All kittens adopted from Bakersfield Cat Trappers Inc. that are under two pounds must be spayed/neutered by 16 weeks, and you will be provided with a spay/netuer voucher to cover the cost of spay or neuter. After adoption you will be contacted by a foster parent or employee of Bakersfield Cat Trappers within 14 days as part of our adoption follow up.

Our Goals for the New Year:
- Reduce the amount of kittens born each year by offering financial assistance with spay/neuter of feral cats for those who want their feral cats, but cannot afford the cost of spay/neuter. ( no funding yet, probably not until 2010)
- Offer trap rentals with all profits of the trap rentals being used to assist with vet bills for spay/neuter and wellness of cats/dogs in our rescue program.
- Have a network of foster homes for cats or dogs in need of homes until they can be adopted. (All rescue cats and dogs will come from
KCAC.)
- Work with Petco and Petsmart to have a location for adoption day. (accepted as an adoption partner by Petco January, 2009.)
- Work with volunteers who want to help out by assisting with fund raising, adoption day events or fostering. (still need volunteers for Petco location at Gosford and Harris)
- We will still offer services for trapping and transporting cats to KCAC if that is the most humane alternative for the feral cats or to the clients vet for spay/neuter.
- Educate the public on the need for spay/neuter through awareness of the sheer volume of cats coming into Kern County shelters on a daily/ weekly basis, and encouraging responsible pet ownership.
